Luke Taylor BSc (Hons), MSc, MCSFS, FRAI (Cert-FAIII)

Lecturer in Forensic Anthropology

Luke Taylor is a Lecturer in Forensic Anthropology as well as a practising Certified Forensic Anthropologist (Cert-FAIII).

He has provided his expertise and experience nationally, in both mass fatality incidents and high profile homicide cases across a number of police forces since 2011. He also provides his expertise to a humanitarian team in the search and recovery of fallen United States military personnel who were either missing in action (MIA) or prisoners of war (POW).

Luke has been a member of the University of Greenwich Forensic Science Team since 2019 where he started as a Forensic Science Technician, aiding in the teaching of undergraduate students in practical areas of forensic science.

Luke shares his wealth of experience in Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology as well as crime scene attendance (major crimes) in the Forensic Science and Forensic Science with Criminology BSc Hons undergraduate degrees at the University of Greenwich with a concentrated focus in the Introduction to Forensic Science, Forensic Archaeology & Anthropology and Forensic Identification and Investigation modules.

Research / Scholarly interests

Luke’s research interests fall largely in the area of human identification, including the sub disciplines of Forensic Taphonomy and Human Osteology.

Luke has previously worked on a 3 year pedagogy research project with an interest in reducing the national attainment gap.
